Where’s the next show?

Oh, we started recording one. It’s all about our trip to Japan… but then two hours later Audacity crashed, and crashed hard. Beta version indeed…

    Yeah.

The Beta version of Audacity Sucks. I suggest staying with the old one. Like me.

That totally sucks. Well, I’m looking forward to hearing it once you beat Audacity into submission. Your cast from Comiket was pretty awesome, so I can’t wait to hear more.

One of these days I’ll get to Japan, damn it.

When you get a chance contact me about that MoCCA live podcast idea. We’re working out the schedule for this year, we’re going to be doing about five showing/lectures and we want to figure out when to do what.

If you are going to try and fix it, I suggest you first make a copy of the files. To do batch processing you might want to work in DOS. You will likely use the rename command. It’s too bad that Windows doesn’t bothered to include a decent sound recorder; then it wouldn’t be necissary to use something like Audacity.

Good lord, DOS?! Is this the stone ages?

Also, I use a Mac. Also, we re-recorded, but editing 2+ hours of sound just hasn’t happened yet. And it’s not going to happen this weekend because of New York Comic Con.

DOS might seem primitive but it does come in handy for small jobs. I find it useful when I need to catalog CDs and DVDs. I just go into DOS and send the DIR listings to a text file, then edit that file in Windows. It saves some typing.

I assume you can do the same thing in the Unix terminal on a Mac.

However, in Mac OSX you can highlight file names in a finder window and paste them into a text editor. It’s great.

But that wouldn’t help me edit a 3-hour show any faster.
