In my experience plenty of hipsters seem to love shojo manga, so the overlap does exist.

You can’t be both an otaku and a hipster. It violates the First Law of Thermodynamics. It’s a law of nature.

I’ve never been a fan of Daryl Surat, even though I used to listen to AWO. Now he just plain pisses me off. Taeko Baba is a friend of mine, and he made a point of insulting her while simultaneously making the point that he didn’t know her from Adam. Yes, I know he ‘didn’t mean anything by it’ and that he was just trying to be witty. But insulting strangers to make yourself look cool — isn’t. I feel comfortable in calling Daryl Surat a jackass because I actually know who he is and why he is a jackass. See the above.

Taeko isn’t a cosplayer really, she just dresses funny. And don’t worry, a certain music label has a lot more bad things to say than Daryl does.

Hey, this is a historic podcast for me! I listened to Daryl for 3/4 of an hour and neither vomited nor had to “get some air” to avoid destroying something!
I think that improves my record by about 30 minutes!
